Manpower is looking for Experienced Lifting or Crane Engineers to join our client's team based in Plymouth, Devon. The right candidate will have experience working with either gantry cranes, winches & hoisting systems or lifting appliances and accessories and have strong applied electrical or mechanical knowledge.

Your job as Lifting/Crane Engineer will be to carry out planned, preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance of customer's gantry cranes along with the associated lifting and testing practices. You will be providing electrical/mechanical services including repairs and diagnostics for customers on various sites in the area.

Reporting directly in the workshop manager, you will then work autonomously and independently to ensure that tasks are completed and performed within company policies and procedures and obtain approval for any deviation from specifically allocated tasks.

Within your role as Lifting/Crane Engineer, your knowledge and experience will allow you to complete fault diagnosis and liaise directly with the customer to achieve cost effective methods of service and repair. You will be responsible for proof load testing, visual examination, service and inspection of cranes and general lifting equipment and be full equipped with fault finding capabilities.

About the ideal candidate:
This role of experienced Lifting/Crane Engineer would suit a highly flexible candidate who is willing to learn and take on any other responsibilities outside of their normal remit. You will have great attention to detail, with high standards and a determination to achieve positive results under pressure and to tight deadlines. You will have experience on similar equipment and a strong background within electrical or mechanical maintenance.

As this is a customer service focused role, you will be an excellent communicator with interpersonal skills, able to maintain longstanding customer relations whilst completing your duties.

Furthermore, please be aware that customer sites are dotted around the UK so flexibility is required from the candidate and a willingness to travel to other UK sites as per the business needs. You will be provided with a company car for this but the team ethic within the company will require you to be prepared to travel to various sites when needed.

Qualification & Knowledge we would look for:
-City and Guilds Electrical Engineering 17th Edition
-LEEA (Desirable)
-Confined Space (Desirable)
-Access to your own tools (Large workshop tools would be provided)
-Full UK driving license will also be required due to the nature of the role.

Salary, Benefits and Working Hours

£ - Up to £30,000 depending on experience
Following 3 month probation period, contributory pension up to 5%
Cycle to work scheme
Hours of work - 08:00 - 16:30 (30 min lunch unpaid, x 2 15 min breaks) - Flexibility for this will be required depending on the needs of the business
Monday to Friday
