We are currently recruiting apprentice trained Shipwright/Marine Fabricators for a project for Babcock's in North Devon

To be considered for this role you will :-
Have served a recognised apprenticeship as a shipwright or marine fabricator with experience in a shipbuilding or ship repair environment,

Be able to build structural modules and undertake structural alterations on naval surface ships and submarines by following engineering drawings

Be Competent to work within multi - trade teams to coordinate these structural alterations.

Have the ability to read drawings, interpret work instructions and perform the work to time, cost and quality
Be able to carry out surveys and pre - fit examinations of bulkheads and marine structural systems.

Be competent at burning and the use of Oxy - Fuel burning tools.

Be competent to use general workshop machinery and hand tools related to the roles such as the use of grinders or disc cutters.

Be able to fabricate or alter structures in a variety of metals and thickness.

Be responsible for the cleaning up of own work area.

Be able to carry out Slinging duties as required.

Undertake any other task within the individual's competence as directed by the Company.
A good basic knowledge of Health & Safety awareness is also essential.

Successful candidates must be flexible, and willing to work in other areas if and when required.
