Manpower is looking for Switchboard Operators to join one of our most valued clients, an NHS trust in Cardiff. The trust is looking for hard-working and reliable individuals to join their team.

This position provides an excellent opportunity for a passionate individual to kick start your career within the NHS, to develop new skills in a range of areas. You will be the first point of contact for the telecommunication service of the Cardiff and vale UHB, operators are responsible for providing a responsive and efficient switchboard/ information service 24/7 to all service users.

As a Switchboard Operator within the NHS Trust your main responsibilities will include:

*Receive calls from the Public, GP's etc on incoming exchange lines and from internal staff together with various networked link lines.
*To use initiative and sensitivity when dealing with unpredictable situations including enquiries from anxious patients, visitors, severe mental health patients, users with language and / or disability barriers, media, complaints etc, ensuring an appropriate and compassionate response at all times.
*To operate a multi-faceted IT PC based application switchboard, this combines all disciplines of acute, primary care and mental health services.
*To respond in accordance with the designated written procedures when dealing with emergency / non-emergency requests.

In order to be successful in the above position you will be a friendly, reliable, self- motivated, approachable individual. Additionally you will need to have previous switchboard / call centre experience or dealing with customers via telephone system.

The ability to fluently speak and understand welsh language is desirable.

Uniform is provided and free parking is available just off site. The hospital is on a good public transport links. Full training provided and as a Manpower employee you will get weekly pay, paid holidays and a Manpower pension.

This role is offering a great salary and rising after a 12 week period. You will work 37.5 Hours per week across 7 days on a shift pattern. You will work 4 sets of shift patterns which will be discussed at interview as this is a 24/7 business. Time and a half pay is available on Saturdays and double time on Sundays and bank holidays.

This is a Full-time role and we are looking for someone to start ASAP.
