Manpower have an exciting permanent opportunity for an Payroll Administrator/Finance Assistant to join their growing organisation on a permanent basis starting straight away.

This role is fast paced and requires an experienced accounts professional to provide support and cover to Finance Team as appropriate who is also accustomed to running a payroll for 300 - 400 staff.

Duties and Responsibilities:
* Managing and running a medium sized payroll of 300 to 400 permanent salaried staff (generally monthly paid). Liaise with HR to prepare all payroll monthly input data (including starters, leavers, benefits, changes)
* Liaise with HMRC, payroll and pension providers monthly as required and prepare pension and pension reports
* Process monthly payroll - including RTI and Auto Enrolment interface with pension provider and HMRC
* Reconcile payroll elements and salary / prepare and post monthly payroll journal
* Process expense claims, and maintain spread sheet information for P11d submission expenses and benefits (including healthcare, childcare, etc.)
* Forecasting and analysing temporary staff payroll costs and producing weekly and monthly reports
* Update and reconcile timesheet records as required and assist with the monthly reporting review involving analysis and reconciliation of finance data
* Assisting the Finance Manager with processing timesheet, reports and data reconciliations
* Management account preparation
* Bank statement to Ledger reconciliation
* Creating supplier payment requests
* Primary contacts for all payroll enquiries
* Primary contacts for HMRC
* Filing for VAT and PAYE purposes

Other duties:
* Creating and making weekly and monthly BACS payments using BACs software such as Cashbacs
* Assisting the Finance Manager with maintaining sales, purchase ledger, including recruitment agency transactions and expense claims processing
* Process customer invoice requests, reconciling recruitment agency invoices with timesheets and statements and other supplier invoices with data input to the accounts system
* Make and maintain petty cash and corporate card payments and statements respectively


Skills / Qualifications / Experience Required:
This role requires an experienced payroll professional who is also accustomed to running a payroll for 300 - 400 staff to support Finance Team to meet tight deadlines.
* Be at least AAT /CAT qualified or ACCA or equivalent part qualified
* Have at least one year unsupervised payroll role experience
* Have the ability to work against strict deadlines
* Experience of STAR or similar payroll systems is essential
* Experience of importing and manipulating payroll data from other HR software systems such as Octopus
* Ability to perform manual payroll calculations helpful
* Competence in excel and experience of computerised accounting software preferable
*Must be flexible and prepared to work weekends or bank holidays when required

This role is Monday to Friday between the hours of 9:00 to 17:30 or 8:30 to 17:00
