You will be onsite working directly with our client as part of the Transformation Program.
There is a requirement for dedicated facilities resources to work on the program to perform facilities related work.

The number of decommission requests are extensive and currently there is a backlog of 300+ servers which needs to be de-racked, placed on pallets, and sent off-site for destruction of hard drives etc.

We are looking for you to be reliable, mobile and a competent with a proven track record of working with IT Hardware - racking, cabling, de-installations.

Your main responsibilities in this role will be:

1.DC LAN Resource Activities:
Port Discovery - Tracing Cables in conjunction with network engineers to identify ports.
Migration - input and review of Runbook
Migration pre-deployment - moving and possible recabling of fixes.
Migration - moving cables from legacy DC LAN to new DC LAN
Migration - Troubleshooting if required

2.Server refresh, cabling and install of new ESX and AIX kit
Migrations to the new kit may also drive requirements
Decommissioning of 100's of old servers from the DC - current backlog is 300+
Unrack all devices in accordance with instruction from Project Team

3.NetApp: Structured cabling

4.Spectrum: Structured cabling for the proxies
And remove temp cabling on AIX

Desired Skills and Experience:

Keen eye for detail
Excellent communication skills
Working knowledge of a data centre environment
Knowledge and experience dealing with IT hardware
Full clean driving license is desirable
Demonstrated ability to work to tight deadlines
Good Excel skills
