We are looking for an experienced Transport and dispatch Coordinator to join a leading manufacturing business based in Telford.
You will be responsible for the arrangement of transport to and from the business, ensuring fluent communication at all stages of the process and constant review of services.
This is an international business and therefore you will undertake international shipping activity, particularly in relation to export documentation, customs procedures and overseas locations.
Responsibilities will include:
*Strategically plan and manage all transportation
*Coordinate Dispatch notes for the night delivery
*Reviewing paperwork and carrying out physical checks in the warehouse
*Apply individual customer requirements associated with each delivery
*Use various IT systems to manage delivery times and transport costs
*Analysing transport problems and producing solutions
*Liaise, direct, optimise and coordinate deliveries with the purchasing manager in and out of the UK hub
*Liaise and negotiate with transport suppliers, materials suppliers, customers and Chambers of Commerce as required
*Keep track of quality, quantity, delivery times, transport costs and overall efficiency
*Process shipments as required
*Continually try to improve and develop business performance within the constraints of legislation
*Timely, full and accurate completion of all daily delivery documentation is essential.
*Frequent liaison with Customer Service, Accounts and Warehouse departments
*Consolidation of shipments into a transport plan
Required Skills
*Proven working experience as a Transport and Dispatch Coordinator or similar
*A logical and systematic approach to work
*Good time management ability
*Ability to solve problems and make decisions, as well as think laterally and offer creative solutions
*Commercial awareness and numeracy skills
*IT literate
*Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
*Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
*A positive attitude to continued learning
*Have the ability to communicate freely and appropriately with all personnel on all levels
Salary is £20,000 - £25,000 depending on experience
