Are you an experienced Assistant Buyer looking for your next step? Are you passionate about your products and product development? Are you looking to grow and develop in your career?

Due to continued success and growth we have an opportunity for an Assistant Buyer to join a well-established business based in Northampton.

You will have full ownership of selected categories within the business and manage the day-to-day running of these, with a strong focus on Product development.

The role of the Assistant Buyer will include:

*Managing and maintaining product categories whilst taking full ownership for specific product ranges
*Support the Buying & Sourcing Manager in identifying new products for the Company to sell
*Undertake cost analysis for new products and categories
*Maintain and update the relevant cost sheets
*Manage sales and stock reports
*Work closely with Far East manufacturers to ensure that new products are manufactured on time and to the correct cost and specification
*Participate in Far East sourcing trips once/twice a year
*Carry out competitor analysis, developing an understanding of market drivers
*Work with the design team to ensure that new products are properly represented on all sales channels
*Create new product listings and write product copy for all sales channels
*Support the Marketing Manager with the digital marketing campaign, ensuring products have maximum exposure on sales channels
*Manage online content for selected categories, including; product descriptions, FAQs, Buying Guides and blogs

Skills & Experience Required

*Previous experience in a buying or product development role
*Have a flare and passion for product/product development
*Strong Microsoft Excel Skills
*Strong willingness to grow and develop in the role
*Excellent attention to detail
