Analytical Research Scientist

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a world leading global organisation, our client Unilever are currently seeking an Analytical Research Scientist based at Unilever's prestigious Research & Development Facility in Port Sunlight. This is a full time temporary role for a period of 6 months, full time, paying up to £24,787 per annum, pro rata, depending on experience. The successful applicant must be able to start the position within 2 weeks of offer, therefore please only apply if you have a notice period of 2 weeks or shorter.


Main Job purpose:
The Analytical Research Scientist is responsible for planning and executing experimental plans to test the suitability and performance of new ingredients with existing Unilever home and personal care products.

*The role will be supporting collaboration with third parties within a H2020 grant funded framework.
*In addition, the role will require the undertaking of different analytical techniques principally involving rheological characterisation.
*As well as presenting findings in meetings and teleconferences, all work must be formally written up in Unilever's Electronic notebook system.
*Undertake COSHH analysis and assessment writing


Skills required:
*Degree in Chemistry or closely related subject
*Experience in a laboratory utilising analytical equipment either in an academic or industry role
*Experience in analytical techniques
*Experience working with rheological characterisation an advantage
*Experience of report writing
*Competent user of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint essential
*Ability to organise and prioritise own workload
