I am recruiting for an experienced General Manager to join the team of a new fine dining restaurant opening in Oxford. You will need to have at least three years of experience within a similar role in a fine dining establishment, please see below for details.

Scope and General Purpose
*To execute pre-defined hospitality ethic that defines customers experience at our restaurant and makes it memorable and unique.
*To maximise profitability by driving a quality focused culture
*To develop a high performing team committed to achieving business goals. Manage talent and succession planning as defined in company's policies and in line with its requirements
*To monitor processes which regulate key activities
*Any other tasks consistent with the job role that may be requested from time to time.

Key Accountabilities

1.Financial Management and Conversion.
*To implement the financial plan based on past performance and future predictions as agreed with the Commercial Director and the General Manager.
*To interpret the P&L statements, identify trends and make inferences. Account for any variances, if at all. To communicate figures/ targets to the rest of mgt support team.
*To follow work processes in order to protect the company from fraud, litigation and other related losses.
*To communicate the financial procedures and objectives to all team members dealing with cash in order to increase involvement and commitment.
*Responsible for banking, cashing, invoicing, payroll and other financial procedures of the company and ensure implementation.
*Participate in making of the budget with Executive Chef and GM.

2.Revenue Generation with quality and Customer Service
*To develop creative products and services to meet existing and future customer needs in consultation with the Commercial Director, GM and CEO.
*To clearly define service and hospitality standards, ensure follow-up, evaluation and re-assessment on periodic basis.
*Responsible for providing quality service and care to all guests in order to meet and exceed expectations.
*Standard of service- comparable with the very best in the industry.
*To implement plans to encourage repeat business and build long term relationships.
*To maintain knowledge of competitor activity and adopt best practices from within and outside the industry.
*To implement and measure customer service and performance standards
*To compare both quantitative and qualitative performance to previous years and report revenues to the General Manager

3.Leading and Managing People
*To recruit and appoint all front of the house teams as per company's requirements and objectives.
*To manage staff performance through regular review meetings and appraise staff against agreed objectives at least once every year.
*Identify, plan and deliver key training activities on the basis of regular performance reviews and as per direction from the Commercial Director, GM and/ or CEO.
*Liaise with the General Manager on a regular basis to keep up to date with legal requirements and good employment practices
*To understand the strengths and weakness of team and delegate accordingly.
*To communicate clearly and openly encouraging involvement at all levels.
*Actively seek to resolve conflict and promote good working relationships and teamwork.

4. Communication
*Support the Staff Forum function, ensuring representation from all departments
*Documentation of processes and record-keeping.
5. Leadership and change management
*Stimulate change, challenge assumption and ways of working, to move the business forward
*Facilitate the creation of business strategies and conduct regular strategy update meetings
*Instil a culture of pride and ownership towards our brand values of innovation and creativity
6. Health & Safety/ Compliance
*Understand relevant H&S legislation and the implications on the business, taking action as required
*Ensure a safe workplace by identifying hazards and taking corrective action
*Review and communicate health and safety audit reports by managing monthly H&S meetings, delegating required action with relevant departments, ensuring these are completed within set timelines.
*Identify maintenance activity required in order to uphold the required standard and ensure these are logged on the maintenance website and actioned as appropriate
*Action and respond to alleged food hygiene issues, deploying all necessary resources to protect reputation and brand integrity
*Take responsibility for any issues and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations
