Restaurant General Manager
Are you an experienced Restaurant General Manager or perhaps a Deputy who is ready to take their next step? I am recruiting for a restaurant based in the new Westgate Shopping Centre that is looking for experienced members of staff to join them. As General Manager you are accountable for ensuring the restaurant is operated to drive sales through outstanding customer service, maximising profitability whilst ensuring that all legal and company standards and policies are consistently met and team members are trained and developed enabling them to meet expectations in all areas of their job role
*To liaise with the recruitment manager to pro-actively recruit team members suitable for the required position(s) who have an acceptable level of comprehension and spoken English.
*To ensure that each new team is inducted in their first week following company and legal training policies, procedures and standards.
*To have in place a reviewable succession plan and liaise with the Ops, HR and TL&D manager to ensure all performance and training criteria are met.
*To support all team members to develop them to achieve their potential by effective scheduling during training with a trainer and execution of regular training, coaching and performance feedback sessions as per the prescribed training policies, procedures, standards and training workbooks.
*To maximise and maintain staff retention by engaging with management and team members alike in an open, friendly and approachable manner.
*To create a motivational environment to drive positive team spirit through regular team meetings, weekly management meetings, daily team briefings and regular 121's.
*To manage performance, absenteeism, conduct and performance according to company standards, policies and procedures.
*To understand, follow and engender the same of the Steps of Service with all team members including BOH kitchen team members
*To liaise daily with the Head Chef or kitchen senior on duty to ensure the appropriate quantity and quality of food is produced as per specifications.
*To ensure the appearance of the restaurant is immaculate both inside and outside at all times
*To ensure that all team members and management alike are fully aware and knowledgeable of all forthcoming events, promotions, marketing activity and menus.
*To create an inviting environment, style and atmosphere to ensure it is conducive to the guests perfect dining experience
*To resolve all guest queries, complaints or other irregularities implementing the 6 R's complaint handling procedure as and when necessary and appropriate and in a timely manner
The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a similar position for a Branded restaurant or Hotel and you will be required to work five days out of seven on a rota basis.
