Porter

The Manpower office in Southampton are currently recruiting for Drivers Mates/Porters based in the City Centre for one of our best clients.

You will be working various and on a flexible basis of Monday - Saturday. You will have the opportunity to work either 06.00 - 17.00 or 10.30 - 21.30 Monday - Friday or 06.00 - 17.00 or 07.00 - 18.00 on the Saturday. Depending on which shifts are available will depend on which ones we can book you in for.

This is an ongoing temporary assignment so we do try our best in getting you as much work as possible.

You will be required to help the driver to lift, shift and delivery products that customers have purchased online. You are due to load up the vehicle and then unload when you reach your customers houses. You can and will do various deliveries in one day.

Before every delivery, you are required to call every customer as a courtesy call to let them know you are on your way and how long you will be on your delivery time.

Very often we will also recruit for a shift called a 'Stand By'. This is where you turn up for work at 06.00 and are there until 10.30. If for any reason there is a shortage of Porters, then you will be required to go out on the road. This does mean however, there is a possibility to work from 06.00 - 21.30.

After 12 weeks, you get a pay rise from £7.50 - £7.67 on the 06.00 start and a rise to £9.12 on the 10.30.
