VEHICLE MECHANIC
LYNEHAM
£22,000 - £24,000
We wish to appoint two Vehicle Mechanics to work within the EMTC based in MoD Lyneham. The role will report to the Team Leader, Lyneham.
Responsibilities:
*Able to carry out in depth engineering work and diagnostics on large vehicles.
*Able to adapt to a wide variety of unsual vehicle platforms using modern repair techniques.
*Able to read and use repair manuals as required.
*Must be able to operate as an individual within a close team.
*Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities as neccessary.
*The requisitioning of vehicle spares and the use of MOD equipment management systems including JAMES.
*Prepared for some outdoor work.
*Any other reasonable requests within your skill set/capability as instructed by line manager.
*Any special to role training required would be provided.
*An individual tool kit, Personal Protective Equipment, Corporate Clothing and specialist stores support is provided
Qualifications & Requirements:
*A recognised qualification in Automotive Engineering with a minimum C&G level 3 or BTEC/IMI/NVQ equivalent or has served in HM Armed Forces as a Vehicle Mechanic Class One. -
Essential
*Hold a current category 'C' or C+E license. - Essential
*Hold relevant MoD spec equipment training course qualifications. - Desirable
*A good knowledge of/able to use JAMES - Desirable
*Hold a current category 'H' License - Desirable
*Computer literate (MS Word and Excel minimum standard) - Desirable
Skills Profile:
*Is determined and uses initiative in pursuing standards, being resourcefull and able to adapt refusing to accept that a solution cannot be found.
*Identifies and evaluates priorities by differentiating between the urgent and important.
*Listens to others ideas and concerns and test understanding by summarising and questioning, recognises how particular statements or actions will be received and modifies approach to gain desired outcome.
