An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a world leading global organisation, our client Unilever are currently seeking an Analytical Scientist (Method Development) based at Unilever's research facility in central Liverpool. This is a full time temporary role for a period of 6 months with possibility of extension. This role is paying between £28,545 to £30,000 depending on experience.

MAIN JOB PURPOSE & BACKGROUND:
Following substantial investment to future-proof the analytical field with state of the art and market leading capabilities within Unilever, the research facility supports current programmes with leading edge capability and develops future capability in line with Unilever ambitions and supports their strategic partnerships.

As an experienced Analytical Chemist with expertise in analytical method development in gas chromatography (GC), mass spectrometry (MS) you will be responsible for delivery of agreed programme of work supporting Unilever and their strategic partner.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Responsible for delivering agreed programme of work for Unilever and strategic partner
Working as part of multi-disciplinary project teams, helping to define the project plans, delivering own experimental programme; generating hypotheses and making recommendations to the project leaders to help progress the programme.
Use statistical data packages and data management systems to deliver clear reports to the project leaders and wider teams.
Understanding and application of relevant Safety and best practice guidelines in the use of new and existing instrumentation e.g. Risk assessments, COSHH, ergonomics.
Stakeholder management.

SKILLS / EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry.
Minimum 5 years of experience in analytical method development using GC/MS.
Expertise in complex data processing.
Strong written and communication skills with previous experience working within an academic environment or scientific research institute.
Excellent presentational skills.
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills together with a proven ability to work as member of a global team.
Desirable expertise in GC/GC.
Desirable experience with ion mobility spectrometry (IMS)
A proven track record in the application of technical expertise in the development of insights using data mining software and methodologies
Evidence of strong decision-making and of delivering effectively to deadlines.
