Job Purpose
To deliver a first class Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME) repair and maintenance service for Tarmac at Mountsorrel Quarry in-line with customer contractual and business performance measures. To be responsible for the safety and performance of the on site team, scheduling, maintenance and repair of the on-site HME fleet and financial performance on the site to effectively manage the team to ensure customer contractual and business requirements are consistently delivered and exceeded.

Key Accountabilities

*To deliver and promote safe working practices, the development / maintenance of a culture in which health and safety is everyone's first priority, and work to eliminate accidents.
*Responsible for the health and safety performance at Mountsorrel Quarry in-line with both company and customer policies and processes - will ensure that individual endeavours in the field of health and safety are consistent with, and compliment those being undertaken by the customer.
*Support the SHEQ team in conducting risk assessments and implementation of (localised) SHEQ policies and procedures.
*With support from the SHEQ team, conduct near miss, accident and incident management activities (initial report, investigation, AIRSWEB entry, corrective actions) and provide updates in relevant review meetings, including accident / incident summary (where applicable).
*Ensure compliance with ISO quality accreditations as appropriate and support both internal and external audits as required.
*Support SHEQ team in inspection activities as part of internal and external audits and implement recommendations and corrective actions.
*Ensure the on-site team participate in relevant SHEQ training and briefings as required and ensure any health, safety and wellbeing surveillance assessments are completed in a timely manner.

*Workshop management experience within a large HME or engineering business, including direct operational management and implementation and management of asset repair and maintenance activities.
*Experience of international HME or engineering operations is desirable.
*Experience of effective supply chain and subcontractor management.
*Experience of effective financial management and delivery of financial targets.
*Experience of effective people management including management of teams in a maintenance and office environment.
*Experience of managing change and development of a continuous improvement culture.
*Experience of working within quality accreditation standards (ISO).
*Experience of working within a culturally strong SHEQ environment.

Skills/Knowledge/Competencies:

*Experience of fleet management operations in an automotive or engineering environment, ideally in the HME sector.
*Strong customer relationship development skills at a customer site and senior level.
*Ability to develop and maintain effective supplier relationships.
*Strong partnering skills, within the business, customer and supplier group through effective communication at all levels.
*Strong negotiation and diplomacy skills within the customer and supplier group.
*Able to identify and deliver against the needs of multiple stakeholders.
*Ability to develop innovative solutions to problems and maximise opportunities.
*Takes a positive and pro-active approach to problem solving.
*Experience of LEAN / Continuous Improvement activities and principles are desirable
*Able to draw upon diverse resources to deliver business objectives.
*Sound business financial and commercial knowledge and understanding.
*Ability to lead and work effectively as part of a team to achieve desired business and financial results.
*Results driven and strives to exceed expectations of the customer and business.
*Works in the interest of the entire business, not just own area of the business.
*An understanding of IT, fleet management systems and technology and their application in an office and fleet management environment.
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to act as a credible representative of the company for external parties.
*Knowledge of health and safety legislation in an automotive, engineering or HME environment and its effective application
