Due to continued success of the Company, I am currently recruiting for a Engineering Supervisor (with an electrical bias)to take responsibility for the plant and equipment.

This position will incorporate the management of the site Maintenance Team, plus maintenance and engineering contractors working at the site, whilst maintaining the Engineering function providing an effective service to meet business needs whilst remaining cost- efficient and able to meet all health and safety standards.

Are you:
Apprentice trained/time served engineer with relevant qualifications ideally with sound electrical engineering skills
Have engineering experience gained within Chemical manufacturing environment would be preferential
Five years' experience in a maintenance technician role in a similar ATEX manufacturing environment.

Production Support
You will be responsible for prioritising business needs in collaboration with the Production Team to achieve customer targets, and communicating these priorities to the Whole Team & deadlines are adhered to.

*Develop and implement planned maintenance procedures downtime
*To attend machine breakdowns and carry out fault finding and repair
*To make recommendations to improve the service provided by the Maintenance team.

Continuous Improvement & Project Work
You will participate in a continuous improvement culture which identifies and improves processes, systems and procedures.

*You will be required to project manage specific engineering / process projects including planning, costing, monitoring and reporting progress under the sites CAPEX requirements and taking action where appropriate to ensure the projects are completed to deadlines and within agreed budgets.

*You will be able to identify existing or potential problems with resources that may have an impact on production or other areas, and take remedial action to ensure the smooth running of the site.

*To make recommendations for new plant and equipment on site which would prove the most effective to meet the needs of the business.

*To ensure that expenditure is contained within agreed budgets and the company gains best value from all (internal and external) resources used.
*To assist in the commissioning of new equipment, being prepared to undertake initial training with a view to training others on site.
*To ensure that all work undertaken meets defined quality standards and that site SHEQ procedures are followed at all times.


People Management
*You will oversee work carried out by the Maintenance Engineers on shift and identify their training needs and support needed in order to maximise their effectiveness.
*You will manage the Maintenance Engineers, allocating their resource to site maintenance issues (production, logistics, technical etc.) or to projects as required.
*You will communicate between Teams effectively ensuring a customer focused culture is achieved.
*Ensure each direct report has a clear understanding of their role and responsibilities within the team
*Conduct the Capability and Talent Review - with agreed actions to initiate succession planning, team and individual development activities as necessary.
*Ensure that all activities and procedures within the team comply with Flint Groups Integrity and Compliance policies, Mission and Guiding Principles, company policies and business ethics.
*Any other responsibilities which fall within the general purpose of the post which the post-holder may be asked to do by their manager

Health & Safety
*To ensure that Health and Safety standards remain the highest priority at all times and that all activities undertaken associated with Maintenance Engineering comply with all health and safety standards and legislation.
*To raise permits and undertake risk assessments as required, ensuring correct procedures are followed
*To ensure good house-keeping both within the plant and workshop areas

Have computer literate with excellent excel and engineering drawing skills
