Our leading IT Client has a new vacancy for a Production Engineer to join their team.
Due to the nature of this role all candidates must have valid SC Security Clearance.
The successful candidate will work with the account management team to develop, produce, install, commission and support strategic operational command support systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaise with the customer and customer agencies as a site representative
- Liaise with Systems/ Hardware/ Software Engineers as a project team member
- Perform installation of hardware at customer sites or in deployable containers
- Install system software in accordance with system documentation
- Remove hardware for disposal, return to store or reuse, during upgrade activities
- Conduct system testing
- Test internal and external interfaces
- Coordinate and oversee sub-contractor site installation activities
- Produce written site visit reports documenting all activities and their outcome
- Carry out site surveys of systems to allow the installation guidance procedure documentation to be produced
Essential Skills:
- Excellent written and technical drawing skills with experience preferably within an IT/ Defence environment with a focus on customer deliverable documentation
- Ability to conduct/ lead technical meetings with management or clients on small to medium sized engagements
- Experience in hardware and software installations and system testing
- Demonstrate an understanding of distributed server network infrastructure, platforms and related technologies including:
* Servers
* Blade Systems
* Storage Area Networks and Virtualization Technologies
If you have strong communication skills, are comfortable working in pressurised environments and have a proactive and can-do attitude, then this could be your ideal role.
