Transport and Dispatch Manager

THE JOB

We are looking for an experienced Transport and Dispatch Manager to join a leading UK manufacturing business based in Wellingborough.

You will oversee the Transport and Dispatch department within a larger production operation and will be focused on people management, workforce allocation, ensuring the shift runs smoothly and that all products are dispatched. Transport, drivers and route planning will also be your responsibility.

You will work alongside the senior management team and directors to reach a common goal - customer satisfaction and quality.

Some of the Transport and Dispatch Manager daily duties will include:
* Overall responsibility of the Dispatch department within a busy and challenging production environment
* Manage existing fleet of HGV's and vehicles
* Manage approx. 15 operatives and 5 drivers
* Ensure legal compliance from a Transport perspective
* Daily route planning creating efficiency
* Full Transport and Dispatch budgetary control
* Manage and drive high level of OTIF
* Develop Department to manage growing output
* Focus is 75% Dispatch and 25% Transport

THE CANDIDATE

Some of the skills required are:
* Ideally holds a CPC OR Good transport knowledge
* Strong background in Transport and Dispatch within a production/manufacturing environment
* Excellent leadership skills
* UPVC manufacturing experience or similar is a benefit
* Driven with the ability to create change
* Experience as a Senior Manager in a medium sized business
* Strong decision making skills
