District Sales Manager for Concrete

To achieve agreed volume, revenue, market share and profit objectives through the effective utilisation of assets and the management and development of both allocated and other customer accounts within the district as required.
2.Key accountabilities
Planning
*Contribute to Annual Budget preparation
*Develop the district sales plan to achieve the required revenue, margin, profit, market share and customer management objectives
*Develop Customer Account Plans for allocated customers
*Work with the operations and customer service teams to achieve customer satisfaction with optimal asset utilisation. (Ensuring whenever possible an order book for each operation that is optimal for achievement of budget, without loss of customer service)
*Provide monthly commercial reports, customer call reports and customer and competitor profiles
*Act as "a single point of contact" when allocated customers work in other areas liaising with colleagues as appropriate
*If requested by the customer, manage all multi-product sales requirements
Organisational
*Contribute to continuous business process improvement through the adoption of best practice across the business
*Liase with Operational/Unit/Trading/Technical / managers to ensure effective customer service and use of resources
*Link with Trading, /technical HCP, Key Accounts, Major Projects and Product Development teams, to exploit all commercial opportunities
Controlling
*Take responsibility for working safely
*Review, analyze and identify achievements, shortfalls and areas for improvement against plan on a regular basis and implement corrective actions
*Ensure pricing policies, as laid down by the Sales Manager, are adhered to. (eg.price schedules)
*Ensure all relevant customer complaints and invoice queries are handled effectively and efficiently within the agreed timescales
*Comply and implement all credit control criteria
*Ensure a close liaison with the Concrete sales team and promote their products at EVERY opportunity
Profit responsibility
*Contribute to profit focused teams in order to optimise company profitability
Key measures
*Achievement of sales, market share, profit and customer targets
*Invoice Query Levels of allocated customers
*Appropriate contact with allocated customers as per the plan
*Customer Satisfaction ratings for allocated accounts
*Number of field visits and sales calls to prospective accounts
3.Job requirements
*Able to demonstrate excellent sales and leadership skills.
*An excellent communicator with an analytical approach to work.
*Product knowledge
*Field sales experience (1 year)
*Operational/technical experience (1 year)
