111 Health Advisor (Call Handler)

We are seeking professional and motivated individuals to join our team of Health Advisors. There has never been a better time to join the 111 team .This service is designed to ease public access to urgent healthcare and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

As a Health Advisor, you will be answering telephone calls directly from members of the public and health care professionals in a timely manner and will be responsible for directing the caller to the most suitable service to meet their needs. This may be to escalate certain patient calls to our Clinical Advisors, dispatch an ambulance in the case of an emergency or refer onto other available services.
Successful applicants should have excellent communication skills, IT skills and experience of working in a customer service or healthcare environment as you will be expected to use IT and communication equipment associated with call handling. You should also demonstrate high levels of personal commitment to facilitate the delivery of a patient focused service.

Candidates must possess GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent qualifications)

Health Advisors will be required to: -
* Work weekends (Out of Hours Period), and some evenings during the week and six out of eight bank holidays
* Be available to work over the Christmas and Easter periods
* Demonstrate previous experience in a care, customer service or call centre environment
* Possess excellent communication skills and telephone manner
* Work quickly and accurately with resilience under pressure

If successful, you will complete training via NHS Pathways and must be available for a total of seven weeks:
*9am - 5pm Saturdays and Sundays (four weekends)
*6pm - 10pm Wednesdays, Thursday and Fridays - Shadowing and mentoring (three weeks
