Engineering Stores Person

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Engineering Stores Assistant to join an internationally renowned Coatings Manufacturer in Gateshead.

As Store Assistant you will work along-side an established team, whereby day to day duties may vary.

Duties will include:

communication with suppliers (phone, email and face to face),
checking stock situation/levels,
processing invoices
Moving stock into the relevant areas. .

Role and Responsibilities

Supporting the store's team on the day to day activities - goods in and out operation.

Rolling out new processes and initiatives within the store with the store's team leader.

Identifying potential NPR cost savings.

Reporting into and supporting the Site Facilities Manager to exceed cost savings and service.

Complete regular cycle counts and full stock counts.

Delivery of an inventory management plan.

Tracking and reporting of supplier's KPIs.

Stock out errors are investigated to root cause and eliminated.

Manage the engineering materials location via the system, update and monitor the material codes.

Monitor, recommend and improve the minimum and maximum order points in conjunction with the engineering team.

Obtain quotations from relevant suppliers.

Ensure all relevant data information is up to date and ensure accuracy of all purchase request information.

Manage purchase order invoice exceptions ensuring rectification for each error.

Ensure items are sourced at the best service, cost and quality and supply purchase orders to suppliers in SAP (SRM).

Implement 5s Plan for site stores.


Profile

The successful candidate will ideally:

Worked in a similar environment to support running an engineering store.
Have a previous SAP experience.
Have strong communication skills and be strong team player.
Have previous stock control experience
Have experience negotiating contracts.
Have a Forklift licence.
