An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Technician/Engineer to join a world leading global organisation, our client are currently looking for a Electrical Technician/ Engineer to work in the Home of Marmite, based at their manufacturing site in Burton Upon Trent in Staffordshire. This is a full time temporary role for a period of 6 months (with potential to extend) The role is hourly paid at £15.42ph - this is equivalent of a salary of £31270 per annum - pro rota. This role is working M-F days 39 hrs per week (Need to have a flexible approach as out of hours Weekend work may be required)

General Purpose of Position:

To ensure that site services are always available when required and operate as efficiently as possible, in compliance with appropriate standards. This role is primarily focussed on electrical areas, as detailed below.

Although this role is based on an average 39 hrs per week, a flexible approach to working is necessary as out of hours or weekend working may be required.

Responsibilities/ Accountabilities:

You will be expected to undertake a variety of activities to achieve compliancy of the site electrical distribution system, with the responsibility for compiling the correct reports for the following:-
*Periodic inspection & testing
*RCD testing
*PAT testing
*Emergency Lighting
*Earth continuity
*Thermography surveys
*Maintenance systems
*Installation work to 17th edition standards
*Substation maintenance
*Electrical support to other areas

Working within the Site Services team the job holder will be expected to work to meet high technical standards within the electrical and mechanical fields. In addition to high technical competence the jobholder will need to plan & complete programmes of work in a manner that is responsive to the needs of the site.

Other principal activities will include giving back up to the services maintenance technician, other departmental engineers and contractors. Also drive energy improvements for the Site Services Department to reduce cost and minimise wastage in all energy areas across the Burton site.

Qualifications/ Experiences:

*Time -Served Electrical Engineering Apprenticeship with 3 years site experience which should include installation, maintenance and compliancy to electrical safety experience
*The qualifications required for this position area BTEC or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, 17th edition C & G, Inspection and Testing BS 2391
*TPM experience or a similar continuous improvement process
*PLC systems would be highly valued
*Experience of working in a Food Manufacturing factory or equivalent environment would be a distinct advantage.
