The Yorkshire Ambulance Service is looking for Patient Transport Call Handlers to join their head office team in Wakefield. Working in the contact centre you will be talking to Health Care Professionals, patients and patient families needing to arrange transport for patients with specialist requirements.

This part time role is highly rewarding and offers a competitive salary of £9.31 per hour (including 25% unsocial hours enhancement) with a guaranteed payrise after 12 weeks. You will also benefit from free parking on site at Wakefield and an excellent fully stocked canteen. You will receive 28 days paid holiday increasing to 35 days after 12 weeks. This Patient Transport Service Call Handler role is working Saturday and Sunday 8am - 6pm with some overtime available during the week.

To be successful as a Patient Transport Service Advisor, you will have good judgement and be able to make informed decisions as you need to discover the severity of calls and provide appropriate support over the phone to the customer.

Being a Patient Transport Services Call Advisor, you will benefit from continuous personal development and an excellent career path within the NHS. Having some previous experience as a Customer Service Advisor would be an advantage, but as full training is provided you only need a good telephone manner, attention to detail and a willingness to learn. In this role you will have 2 weeks of full time class room training 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday. Following the training you will work on a 18hr a week shift pattern of 8am - 6pm Saturday and Sundays.
