Manpower Ashford is working with our client in recruiting a Stores Officer to start immediately!
Main job role:
Supplying goods, maintaining records, storing and securing stocks, undertaking general office and warehouse duties supervise daily deliveries and supervise the Stores Assistant in accordance with Trust policy, procedure and guidelines.
Key duties:
To undertake work related to stock control in an efficient
and effective manner, ensuring that all recording procedures undertaken by the post holder, either manual or electronic, are accurate and that audit trails are clear.
To ensure that all stocks, when in the warehouse, during transportation or delivery, are secure, safely positioned and do not represent a hazard to others, disposing of waste in the appropriate manner.
To review stock levels of uniforms and consumables regularly, reporting shortages and excesses, planning the re-ordering of items within the remit of this post, and maintain clear stock rotation at all times.
To report any discrepancies in deliveries, when checking in goods, immediately, or if discovered at a later date to report this appropriately.
To ensure that goods stored in the warehouse are of Health and Safety at all times, disposing of waste, moving hazards etc.
To participate in formal audits and stock-takes when required, recording information accurately.
To support new staff, demonstrating processes and activities, mentoring as appropriate.
Torespondtocustomeranduserenquiries appropriately, liaising with members of staff requesting consumables, uniforms, goods or equipment, ensuring only appropriate items are provided and ensuring best practice is adhered to at all times whilst contributing to the department's annual savings targets, referring any issues outside the remit of this role to your line Manager.
Act as first point of Contact as and when required to cover day-to- day functions of the department.
Key knowledge, skills and experience required:
Essential:
IT skills including Microsoft office
Excel
Work in a warehouse/stores environment
Experience & Knowledge:
Recent Health Service.
Stock control & stock rotation
Skills:
Initiative and decision making.
Good communication- written and verbal
Good inter-personal skill
Methodical approach
Ability to manage own time
Working days will be Monday - Friday.
