Job Description - Inventory/Stock Controller

Our client is an industry leading motor parts and 4x4 accessory supplier. They are based from a modern purpose built HQ that offers a dynamic and vibrant working environment. They have experienced continued growth year on year and are keen to progress further to cement their position as the largest player in Europe.
Our client is now looking to recruit an Inventory Controller, an exciting opportunity that will offer applicants both a challenging and varied position. The role will entail shared responsibility for the multi-million pound inventory, along with being the conduit between Purchase and Sales. Key duties include demand planning and stock proposals from previous sales history, as well as dealing with and rectifying any stock related issues.

Core Accountabilities

*Ensure alignment of inventory
*Reduce dated stock disposal
*Reduce damaged stock disposal
*Reduce aged stock
*Advise on changes for suppliers
*Inventory issue resolution

Requirements

ESSENTIAL

*Can demonstrate an ability to solve complex problems
*Understands the concept of aged stock and dated stock
*Good understanding of stock movement implication
*Strong excel formula and numeracy skills
*Excellent communication skills
*Exceptional attention to detail

PREFERRED

*Financial or commercial understanding of warehouse and distribution
*Basic understanding of inventory implications on cash flow
*Stock management and reconciliation experience

Personal Competencies

The successful applicant will be highly analytical with the ability to not only identify anomalies in data easily, but to also have a successful approach to problem solving. They will be required to be tenacious and focussed on building close working relationships with key contacts, along with being proactive in their approach to answering the business needs and offering innovative solutions in relation to inventory/stock control. They will be part of an established team and will work cross functionally, so a strong team player with excellent and open communication skills is essential.
