Manpower is pleased to announce an outstanding opportunity for a Production Area Manager at one of our most-valued clients. A key role at their Leeds location, the Production Area Manager will be instrumental in delivering efficiencies and effective leadership within the manufacturing function.

The business have a long history of providing world class products to the construction industry - from silicones to sealants, and fillers to adhesives, they are established as one of the leading names within the industry. The Leeds site is a key facility within the group, and over the last few years has experience sustained growth.

As Production Area Manager, you will lead a team of 25+ on a fast-paced production and packaging line in a critical area of the site. Your main challenges will include;
* Ensuring that production targets are met on time and to the highest levels of quality
* Driving a culture of performance excellence by implementing KPIs and creating a target-driven approach
* Championing continuous improvement by utilising Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques to deliver efficiencies and savings across production
* Upskilling the production teams to further embed initiatives such as autonomous maintenance
* Combining hands-on leadership and strategic input to engage internal stakeholders throughout the business
* Providing first-line management to the team such as grievances and appraisals
* Working cross-functionally within the plant to ensure a seamless production service in line with the commercial needs of the business
* Maintaining the highest level of health and safety standards throughout the site

This role will sit on weekly rotating shifts (6-2,2-10) Monday to Friday and it will suit an individual that has a strong desire to grow and develop their career, and that already possesses;
* Experience of production management within a fast-paced manufacturing industry (such as FMCG, automotive, packaging, chemicals)
* Demonstrable experience within a people leadership role (managing teams of over 10 ideally)
* A track record of delivering improvement projects and efficiencies within manufacturing
* Working knowledge of the lean manufacturing toolset
* The ability to train, coach and mentor a wide range of people in order to improve performance
* A result-oriented approach to management
* High level of communication skills with the ability to motivate and challenge people of all levels
