Our client who specialise in turnkey manufacturing services for a number of diverse industries including Defence, Rail, Subsea, Renewables and Oil and Gas are looking to hire a Machine Shop Inspector to work at their state of the art premises in Newcastle.
The Machine Shop Inspector will be responsible for performing first off, in process and final inspection on machined / fabricated components to ensure the required quality standard is achieved.
Key Activities:
Perform first off, in process and final inspection on manufactured parts using CMM, Faro Arm and hand-held measuring equipment - Vernier's, micrometers, depth gauges etc
Inspect finished goods, ensuring they meet the requirements needed and deal with any non-conformance or concession.
Create First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR's)
Liaise with supervision and operators to resolve customer issues, promoting customer confidence and satisfaction.
Support business processes and personnel in continuous improvement activities in addition to providing information concerning product and process quality performance.
Assist with gauge control / calibration activities.
This role requires job specific proficiency and good working knowledge of standard practices, procedures and protocols.
To be considered for this role you will
Have served a recognised apprenticeship or NVQ level / ONC level or equivalent experience.
Have strong machining knowledge.
Have strong proven problem solving skills within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
Have the ability to read, understand and interpret engineering information.
Have experience in Continuous Improvement and 5S.
Be an effective communicator at all levels both verbally and written.
Have CMM experience
