Our client who specialise in turnkey manufacturing services for a number of diverse industries including Defence, Rail, Subsea, Renewables and Oil and Gas are looking to hire an experience Manual Turner to work at their state of the art premises in Newcastle.

The purpose of this role is to produce machined parts by setting up and operating a variety of Manual Lathes; maintaining quality and safety standards.

Duties will include:-

Setting and operating Manual Lathes
Reading and Interpreting engineering drawings
Using inspection equipment
Supporting, training and mentoring of operators
Ensure that health and safety standards are adhered to and maintained
Complete documentation/processes to satisfy Production Control requirements

To be considered for this role you will:-

Have served a recognised apprenticeship
Have a minimum of 5 years machining experience in a subcontract manufacturing environment.
Be a strong communicator
Be Committed to Continuous Improvement.
Be a Proven Problem Solver
Be a Team Player
Be committed to the development of apprentices

Some experience of a XYZ Protrak lathe would be an advantage.
