Are you a Process Safety Engineer looking for a challenging assignment?
Do you you have experience and a demonstratable track record from the process manufacturing industry?

You will be interested in this fixed term contract opportunity to join our onsite project team and play a key role during the production optimisation stages of one of the most advanced manufacturing facilities in the world. Our client is a leading global paints and Coatings Company and a major producer of specialty chemicals, with over 47000 employees, in 80 countries supplying decorative and specialist paint solutions to customers worldwide.

Working with a Team of highly skilled and focused Engineering staff, reporting into the senior Management team onsite, you will enjoy a forward thinking culture and progressive environment, at this new manufacturing facility during its construction and completion phase.

You will possess experience in Process Safety Engineering, as the Process Safety Engineer you will be required to provide technical leadership to determine hazards and identify risks with new process introduction and existing process changes.

Your duties will include control of Process Safety demonstrate a proactive approach to hazard reduction principals, able to apply current and applicable legislation and analyse the impact on current and proposed plant systems. To undertake investigation of plant or process failures and implementation of corrective and preventative actions, along with the specification, design, installation, comissioning and project management of process plant equipment. To liaise with all lead stakeholders from Operations and Engineering teams onsite, as well as external contractors and suppliers. To create a climate of positive thinking and frank discussion, identify potential hazards and operability problems. To fully record all detail to provide a comprehensive document scheme, with regular reporting to Senior Management Team.

The project site is based in Northumberland, but candidates who are looking to commute from outside of this area would also be taken into consideration. As the ideal candidate you will have proven background within process manufacturing industry.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
Recognised Chemical Engineering Degree or equivalent
Experience of process definition from first principals and calculations
Experience of project management and management of change
Experience of process safety and occupational safety
Experience of the use of risk reduction processes including HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA,
Experience of Project Design specifically in process systems from FEED through to detailed design
Experience of automated control systems as applied in plant and packaged equipment
Self starter, highly motivated individual capible of taking on the responsibilies of this role
