Are you a Design Manager with experience of multi discipline product design and development?

Then you will be interested in a new opening and permanent appointment with our client, an internationally renowned UK design engineering and original equipment manufacturer supplying all aspects of an end to end service for process and production equipment into blue chip customers from the print, energy and leisure industries.

As part of this successful and busy Engineering team you will enjoy a forward thinking culture and progressive environment, reporting into the senior management team you will be based in a modern and friendly office environment, located in the Halifax area easily accessible by road.

You will be involved in all aspects of design, including concept and design schemes; structural analysis and calculations; design in a 3D-modelling environment and production of manufacturing drawings, sometimes with the assistance of draughts people, but always as part of the team.

As part of this diverse and challenging Engineering role, along with long term career prospects you will be given plenty of responsibility, including:

You will lead a multi-disciplined team on the design, from concept to detail, manufacture and production of bespoke equipment in technology-related areas of mechanical and electrical engineering, working to strict budget and deadlines on multiple projects simultaneously.

Candidates should be able to demonstrate the following: Educated to a HND / Degree level in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering subject

Demonstrable engineering design and development experience (preferably over 5 years)

Experienced with 3D/2D Design packages Solidworks, AutoCAD

Specialist knowledge and experience in a multi-disciplinary design environment in-depth knowledge and experience in the design, manufacture

Flexibility and knowledge to work across various disciplines and share your ideas a methodical approach to problem-solving

Attention to detail (be a closer/finisher)

Ability to work with minimal technical supervision

Excellent communication and presentation skills

Ability to estimate, forecast, plan and execute agreed plans

Ability to use your experience and technical knowledge to create solutions to complex engineering problems within agreed timescales

Ability to cooperate with others in a cross-functional environment

Ability to lead, delegate and support engineering teams
