About the company
Our client, a prestigious engineering business located in the North East of England are looking to appoint mechanical design engineers. The client supply integrated offshore vessels and equipment services across the globe to customers in the seabed-to-surface oil and gas, and renewable energy markets.
As part of this successful and busy Engineering team you will enjoy a forward thinking culture and progressive environment, reporting into the Engineering Manager you will be based in a modern and friendly office environment, located 25 minutes from Newcastle city centre.
About the role
You will be involved in all aspects of mechanical design, including concept and design schemes; structural analysis and calculations; design in a 3D-modelling environment and production of manufacturing drawings, sometimes with the assistance of draughts people, but always as part of the team.
Working in project team's from concept to commissioning. You will utilise your experience in 3D CAD design, preferably Autodesk Inventor Series. Make use of FEA software to create and develop models from 1st principals on turnkey solutions, to then produce detail drawings for manufacture of structural steelwork and mechanical systems.
About You

Candidates should be able to demonstrate the following: Qualified to degree level within Mechanical engineering or a related subject
At least two years of engineering design and development experience
Membership of a recognised engineering body (or you are working towards this)
Knowledge and experience in a design environment
Knowledge and experience in the design, manufacture and utilisation
Knowledge of multi-disciplinary design, project and engineering experience
Knowledge or an awareness of new technology advancements
Knowledge of basic pipeline engineering experience
Flexibility to work across various disciplines and share your ideas
A good problem-solving, attention to detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines
The ability to coordinate and manage your own work-related activities
The ability to meet quality standards, within budget and agreed timescales
A willingness to work closely with Senior Engineers and the rest of the team to achieve design aims
The ability to use previous experience and technical knowledge to achieve solutions to complex engineering problems to agreed timescales
Hold a UK driving license and a valid UK passport
