An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a world leading global organisation; our blue chip FMCG client is currently looking for a Procurement Assistant to work at their Port Sunlight Facility. This is a full time, temporary role for a period of 6 months, working a 37.5 per hour week. This role is paying £26,535 pro rata.


The Fine Chemicals Procurement Team is part of the Chemicals Procurement Network and is responsible for managing the sourcing and purchase of all chemicals within the team, on a global basis. The team manages a wide range of materials, including Preservatives, Polymers, Silicones, Sorbitol and others.

The Procurement Assistant will report to the Global Procurement Manager, Fine Chemicals (Preservatives, Citrics & Citrates) and will perform the following tasks in support to the Fine Chemicals team;


Key Responsibilities:
Responsible together with the Fine Chemicals Team for achieving all the goals, objectives that are part of the KPIs for the team and monitor target delivery (commercial analyst function including reporting and analysis on VIP savings, cash generation, Price-to-Price movement, complexity reduction)
*Management of portfolio tail clean up
*Support Procurement Director, Procurement managers on presentations and updates for internal audience
*Supporting procurement projects as needed.
*Supporting Fine Chemicals UK Team with Contract Management support for 4 main material groups within the team.
*Building and managing relationships with internal customers/stakeholders
*Support with input into SRS (Savings platform) and follow up of approvals.
*Liaising with suppliers to ensure all specifications are signed, returned and recorded.
* USQS - support with Compliance to ensure suppliers book and carry out audits before expiry for both Quality and Responsible Sourcing
*Measuring and managing overall performance of suppliers (SupplierNet)

Requirements:

  • SAP essential
  • Chemical experience preferred.
  • Candidates from a larger organisation in an industry similar to FMCG/manufacturing who do not possess chemical experience will also be considered.
