Working as a Mechanically biased Engineering Technician for an independent pharmaceutical company your role will involve carrying out maintenance work on site and providing first hand technical diagnosis and correction of maintenance problems to maintain assets and the site in a safe and efficient operational condition.
Role and Responsibilities
- Carry out mechanical repairs, modifications, plant upgrades and installation.
- Carry out maintenance on Safety Instrumented Systems.
- Carry out problem solving and diagnostic checks on mechanical and process equipment recommending changes and improvements to the operational systems.
- Carryout electrical isolations and restorations of medium and low voltage electrical equipment
- Carryout work which is outside core skill and in line with agreement in force relating to multi-skilling.
- Acceptance and hand back of PTWs.
- Carry out work in compliance with cGMP standards.
- Requisition and collect stores materials as required.
- Conduct inspections and carry out preventative maintenance activity.
- Complete small projects as defined by area engineer.
- Communicate, liaise and co-ordinate work activities with contractors, suppliers and service providers.
- Develop maintenance procedures.
- To be considered for this role you will
- Have served a recognised craft apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering
- Be qualified to a minimum of NVQ level 3, ONC or equivalent
- Have experience in chemical industry
- Have a mature approach to work
- Have good diagnostic skills
- Have knowledge of DSEAR, and ATEX.
- Be aware of maintenance requirements of Safety Instrumented Systems.
- Be able to work unsupervised in a self-managed team
- Be flexible and able to work shifts.
