Become the newest member of our data centre operators team, and support a large data center placed in Citywest Business Park.

Operate and maintain various computer and peripheral equipment and monitor systems activity. Follow established documentation and execute production job streams according to a defined schedule and verify successful job completion. Maintain logs and shift passdown reports required for the Data Centre. Handle and label media in accordance with established procedures. Refer problems to more experienced Operators or other support personnel.


The focus of the role will be to:

- Perform daily backups, restore and label tape media according to established procedures.
- File all media and library material in an organized and uniform manner according to established procedures.
- Monitor media usage and provide Documentation for auditing purposes.
- Provide recovery media on request using established procedures.
- May be required to undertake other functions within the data center as required (Tape Librarian, installation of hardware and other relevant technical functions).
- Responsible for monitoring the Data Centre and field servers.
- Responsible for monitoring the environmental infrastructure (temperature, humidity, power).
- Interface with support personnel and users when required.
- Handle sensitive processes and data according to security procedures.
- Maintain a neat, orderly and secure Data Centre. Record and maintains appropriate logs, problem documentation and shift passdown reports.
- Receive equipment deliveries
- Maintain storeroom and stock levels

You will be working for a large multinational IT company, who are at the forefront of providing hardware components as well as software and related services to its consumers.

As a data centre operator you will be offered a permanent position with a salary of €24,000.

Shift work: working as part of a team that cover 24x7x365 days, the shift pattern is 6 days on then 4 days off. The shift times are Mornings 07:30-16:00, Evenings 15:00-23:30, and Nights 22:30 - 08:00.



The fit:

You be a perfect fit for the team if you possess good knowledge of Microsoft office products together with an understanding of computer components. You enjoy working in a team and is known to be very organized and good at communicating.

This role could also suit someone with a strong office administration background, who is looking to move into an IT related role.
