Job Details
We are looking for 6 students to work as an Ask Student Associate on the Ask Desk in the Curzon Building. The shifts will be varied depending on your availability.
Interviews will take place on Tuesday 22nd May only and you must be available to do the training week commencing 9th and 16th July.
Applications are limited to students of the Birmingham City University who are enrolled on a course.
Experience of successfully working as a Student Ambassador is desirable and the ability to communicate well with a wide variety of individuals is essential. You should be familiar with IT applications and have the confidence to use a variety of systems.
Other requirements are:
- The confidential handling of information when and where required is essential. Training on data protection will be given.
- Adaptable approach and good problem solving skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure and respond sensibly to the unexpected.
- Be able to work on own initiative by approaching students and visitors as the need and situation requires.
- Committed, conscientious and reliable.
- Recognise and adapt to a changing environment, be proactive at suggesting improvements and be willing to participate in wider change and review of the service.
- Demonstrable understanding of equality and diversity and appropriate professional conduct within a student support environment
