My client is recruiting for an Assistant Maintenance Manager to join their team on a full time and permanent basis. They are looking for a driven and proactive individual to help support their manufacturing operation. The Assistant Maintenance Manager will carry out the routine setting, maintenance and running of the production line and assist in the supervision of the site's maintenance team. Experience in the plastics moulding processes is essential as they operate injection moulding, blow moulding and all relevant ancillary equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure all tooling and machinery is regularly inspected in line with maintenance requirements
  • Carry out setting of machinery where required in line with production requirements, to ensure targets and deliveries are met
  • Monitor performance of all tooling and machinery, carrying out continuous improvements to deliver gains in output and efficiency
  • Identify potential and actual production issues and work to resolve them
  • Participate in any skills training required as deemed reasonable by the business
  • Ensure all machinery is operating to a level than guarantees quality of production
  • Lead by example and maintain consistent / high personal standards
  • Keep all production equipment operational to ensure efficient output to expected standards
  • Ensure all consumables and spare part usage is prudent and reasonable.
  • Have an active part in maintenance schedules and component replacement requirements, get best value for and maintenance work undertaken
  • Pro-actively contribute to the management of health and safety in local work environment.
  • Ensure all reasonable steps are taken in any setting and maintenance work, to ensure the safety of yourself and others
  • Take accountability for all other employees actions ensuring they behave within the guidelines of the health & safety and environmental legislation, (consult H&S or Supervisor where necessary)
  • Ensure the use of suitable PPE for any roles as defined by the risk assessments.

SKILLS

  • The ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with people at all l
  • Be able to communicate clearly, both written and in speech.
  • Process a good standard of numeracy.
  • Good understanding of and commitment to safe working practices.
  • Be computer literate (Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel).
  • Be a team player.
  • Lead by example

The working hours for this position are 8am - 5pm Monday to Friday, but flexibility is required. You will be offered a competitive salary of up to £35,000 dependant on experience.
