An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a world leading global organisation. Our client, a blue chip FMCG company, is currently seeking a Project Engineer based onsite in Burton. This is a full-time, temporary role for a period of 12-18 months, Monday to Friday, 36.25 hours per week, to start ASAP. The role is paying a salary of up to £45,000 per annum, pro rata, or a Ltd contractor rate of up to £244 per day, depending on experience.

This role will join a team of Project Managers on an exciting project to build a new foods manufacturing hub at the company's Burton Plant. The successful candidate will lead the design installation and commissioning of the Process Plant, whilst supporting other aspects of the build such as utilities/services supply, waste water treatment upgrade and material storage and handling.

Safety

  • Have a deep understanding of all OSHE departmental procedures, need to be aware of machinery and process related regulations, standards.
  • Ensure that the correct PPE is used by the teams, contractors, leading by example and reinforcing the rules
  • Perform regular Dupont audits with their direct-reports and ensure that all audit actions are completed
  • Prepare and install engineering designs, in accordance with relevant local legislation, the company, Food category procedures and site regulations, to ensure inherently safe plant and equipment, proper environmental protection and safety of personnel. Use relevant Risk assessment method and SIMAS.
  • Creating and maintaining project files and documentation, in line with CDM regulation where appropriate.

Quality

  • Co-ordination of main plant trials
  • Key innovation contact/representative for the Sourcing Unit
  • Identify critical points to ensure product quality.

Customer Service

  • Deliver project contract in terms of budgets, timings and ramp up
  • Agree critical success factors within all levels of factory customers
  • Set and agree, with the relevant people, the realistic targets to ensure innovation/projects is delivered effectively and efficiently
  • Review project and technical implementation and documentation with customer and supplier
  • Facilitate the generation and implementation of improvement and VIP ideas during the project phase

Cost

  • Manage all capital projects within budget
  • Carry out budgetary control of a project or sub-project
  • Management of contractors as necessary to carry out the design and implementation of the project.
  • Provide cost effective solutions for implementation of innovation and infrastructure projects

5S

  • Ensure that the 5S programme is implemented and sustained in project areas

Design Engineering and Technical Support

  • The preparation of equipment schedules, cost schedules and project documentation
  • Provide technical assistance to the Manufacturing Operation and Category Engineers as required
  • The installation, testing and commissioning of plant equipment related to the project
  • Conduct technical surveys and investigations, as necessary, to enable feasibility studies to be carried out
  • Prepare outline designs and schemes for feasibility studies and project assessment
  • Work with Technical Leader when planning maintenance activities and spare parts strategy.
  • Agreeing plant modifications that are needed with Technical Leader before they are implemented
  • Ensuring AM and PM schedules and standards are updated after all kaizen analysis and opl's are in place for modifications to the plant or process

Focused Improvement

  • Apply the technology roadmap
  • Assist in establishing best practice through the introduction of relevant Engineering Standards, Specifications, Procedures and Practices
  • Updating relevant project file with the implemented modification and gather learning.

Training and Development

  • Develop engineering designs and specifications in accordance with established project schemes
  • Work with operational teams to design training/skills matrix for each project

Early Management

  • Use of relevant WCM tools and techniques including Earl Equipment Management, to ensure "right first time" philosophy is adopted
  • Ensure equipment Technical Documentation is updated with all improvements or modifications made
  • Actively lead and involve operational teams in design reviews and MP workshops



KEY SKILLS

  • Excellent PC skills including CAD & ESAP
  • Clockwise
  • Ideally qualified to degree standard in engineering discipline or equivalent in experience
  • Proven background in implementation of packing or process equipment related projects
  • Fully operational in project management
