Custody Escort - Burgess Hill & Brighton

The Role

Our client is looking for Prisoner Custody Escort within the Burgess Hill area. Within this role, your main responsibility will be to ensure the safe and secure movement of people within custody to and from court. This is a full time / permanent position.

• Full training - including first aid, mental health, and control and restraint. As a Prisoner Custody escort, you'll be responsible for the following:
• Responsibilities

• Safe and secure movement of people within custody - including in and out of prison, on to the vehicle and at court
• Ensuring the welfare of the people within custody - including completing risk assessments for venerable / 'at risk' people, managing meals and snacks, ensuring comfort stops are taken during transit
• Ensuring the security and safety of people within custody when outside the vehicle - including to the dock, on legal visits and during comfort stops
• Ensuring all 'prisoner checks' are completed and recorded
• Managing incidents if they occur including potential use of physical force to control or restrain when required
• You will also:

• Liase with third party agencies including the police and prison services to ensure the correct documents are completed
• Maintain your own knowledge of business updates and operating proceduresAs a Prisoner Custody Driver you will have:
• Skills Required

• Strong communication skills - written and oral

• A driving license

• Physical ability to use force when it's requiredThe ideal candidate for this role will have:
