**Please note this position is for BCU students only

BCU Presessional English courses are looking for assistance with this year's Presessional English programmes. We are looking for highly confident and outgoing individuals who will help to make newly arrived international students feel welcome at the university and in the country.

The international students will be studying English Language and Academic Skills before their main courses begin. This role will involve helping to organise and deliver the Presessional Social Programme, including weekend trips, activities and conversation clubs. The social programme mostly takes place Wednesday - Friday afternoons and evenings, and at weekends. The role will involve assisting with inductions on certain Mondays.

Main duties and responsibilities:

- To help plan and deliver social events, such as trips to local attractions
- To attend weekend coach trips to places like Oxford and London and to ensure all students have a good time
- To publicise the Presessional Social Programme to international students using social media
- To participate in or help organise sports events for international students
- To make announcements to students about the Presessional Social Programme in their classrooms
- To assist with the Presessional Student Inductions (showing students where to go, passing out handbooks etc.)
- To assist Presessional management and teaching staff with some clerical duties, such as taking books and materials to classrooms
- To help direct students on their first days from accommodation to correct classes

Applications are particularly welcomed from students currently taking or soon to take the School of English's Teaching English as a Foreign Language option, or people with experience of teaching or working with international students.
