An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a world leading global organisation, our Global FMCG Client, are currently seeking a Graduate Product Development Scientist based at Port Sunlight, Wirral. This is a full time temporary role for a period of 6 months, working a 36.25 hour week. This role is paying up to £23,605 per annum, pro rata, depending on experience.

MAIN JOB PURPOSE:

This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate who is keen to develop in the area of Product Development with a Global FMCG company, in the field of personal care. Our client is the powerhouse behind instantly recognisable brands, such as TRESemmé, Dove, TIGI, VO5, Alberto Culver and Toni&Guy.

The successful applicant will join the Styling Formulation team within Research and Development in the Hair Design Group in Port Sunlight. This exciting role comprises working across all of our clients hair care brands to provide formulation and technical support to enable innovation projects, as well as to develop new formulation capabilities and technical insights.

JOB SUMMARY

Support the Hair Category Innovation Programme, specifically in the development and formulation of new products.

Prepare and characterise products, including measuring rheological properties, physical/sensory evaluations and storage stability tests etc.

Clearly communicate results and recommendations, via presentations and formal written reports.

Effective collaboration within cross-functional teams.

Develop technical mastery of hair care formulations; technologies, hair science and measurement understanding.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Passionate about science and product development

Recent graduate in physical sciences (preferably chemistry) or equivalent previous experience

A rigorous approach and attention to detail.

Ability to work to tight deadlines using dynamic problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
