Finance Officer

Manpower is pleased to be working with a great company in Plymouth to find a skilled Finance Officer for a temporary contract lasting for several months. The company is based off the A386 / Tavistock Road just outside of the centre of Plymouth. The purpose of the Finance Officer, within this busy team, is to deliver effective financial support and constantly deliver a client focused service to both internal and external stakeholders. You ideally will be looking for a role that is able to start quickly however if you have a notice to serve our client would still like to hear from you.

About the role

This is a busy role where you will be communicating with colleagues and the external stakeholders over the phone and via email so a pleasant manner is essential. You would be responsible for the Accounts Payable Invoices along with their coding, distribution and timely processing; you will also work on the helpdesk to ensure supplier's queries are dealt with quickly and effectively. You will also be working with invoices in Accounts Receivable including raising sales orders, credit memos and creating new customer accounts. In addition you will be able to process travel claims and expenses for staff across the business.

About the candidate

As the success candidate you will be educated to an NVQ Level 3 standard in a relevant subject or have a recognised accounting qualification. You will be proficient in the use of IT systems including Microsoft office; you will have excellent communication skills which will include presenting information verbally, in writing or using data. Ideally you will already have worked within an accounting role and have a keen eye for detail to ensure records are accurate and properly filed.
