My Client is a renowned manufacturer of automotive components, created to fully automotive TS16949 & ISO 14001 standards. In this ever growing sector, I am thrilled to be supporting a major growth campaign across several areas of the business including the role of Quality Manager.
What will you be responsible for as Quality Manager ?
You will report directly into the Business Development Director, with responsibilities to provide leadership, guidance, quality management support and direction to the Team and other stakeholders within the business. As Quality Manager, you will manage the Team to satisfy and exceed customer and business expectations against agreed Key Performance Indicators.
What will your day look like as Quality manager?
You will be responsible for maintaining the companies IATF16949:2016. Quality Management System (QMS)
Managing the Quality Team including inspection, laboratory and gauging functions.
Overall responsibility for the company's Internal and External Quality performances including customer relationship management
Responsibility for Continuous Improvement utilising Six Sigma and best practice.
Customer and supplier liaison as and when required.
Management of supplier quality including auditing suitability and managing ongoing performance.
What do you need to succeed in this role?
You will be from an engineering / automotive background, ideally degree or HNC/HND qualified with a minimum of 3 years practical experience in a precision engineering/automotive manufacturing environment. Six sigma trained and previous management experience also essential.
Most importantly:
* Technical expertise in Quality Management
* Project management experience, knowledge of APQP and PPAP processes.
* The ability to engage effectively with all levels in the business, along with an understanding of working effectively with other cultures.
* An ability to coach, train and mentor others, with awareness of imparting knowledge in others through this process.
* Thorough, strong and persuasive influencing skills
* The ability to make effective decisions under pressure
* Strong attention to detail, understanding of risk and risk mitigation
* Bias for action and goal orientated
* Full Driving License and be free to travel sometimes at short notice both domestically and internationally
