MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE IN MULTI TRADES (JACK OF ALL TRADES)

Introduction

My client is the UK's leading engineering support services organisation employing 35,000 people across the world. They are currently looking to employ a Multi Trader/Handyman to work at their site based at RSME Minley. The successful candidate will have multi-trade experience and be able to perform basic Electrical,Plumbing, Carpentry and potentially Plastering skills when needed. My client are paying a competitive salary between £20,000 - £28,000 per annum and the role would require the successful candidate to undergo basic security clearances to work on site.

Main Tasks

  • Delivery of multi-trade built environment activities to all properties in scope as required.
  • Adherence and upkeep of high standards of quality in service delivery at all times
  • Awareness of delivery of required activities in specific end user environment
  • Ensure all activities are delivered in compliance with statutory obligations and health and safety legal requirements and best practice
  • Responsibility for care and condition of all company vehicles, equipment and tools issued for use in multi-trade activities, completing all pre and post safety checks as required
  • Co-ordination and co-operation with all company teams and appointed contractors as required
  • Excellent levels of customer service
  • Excellent timekeeping and acknowledgement of flexible approach to service delivery
  • Flexible approach to working outside normal working hours and taking part in the On-Call rota when required
  • Attend regular training and health and safety courses as required by the company
  • Ensure Company Health, Safety & Environmental procedures are implemented and complied with at all times.
  • Carry out any other duties as required by company supervision and management
  • Sound knowledge, ideally supported with certification / training courses evidence of working at heights
  • Excellent timekeeping and acknowledgement of flexible approach to service delivery
  • Maintain and order an accurate and up to date inventory for B&CE supplies

Qualifications and Technical Experience

Essential

  • Hold a driving licence suitable for use in the UK
  • Qualified IOSH Working Safely

Desirable

  • City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent qualification as a Multi-trader and/or other construction and maintenance related discipline
  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent (including Maths & English)
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office packages
  • Hold a current CSCS ECS card or equivalent
  • Proven track record of working within a busy customer focused organisation
  • Knowledge of Legionella legislation, controls and treatment

Skills Profile

  • Evidence of a range of built asset maintenance operations skills and experience, including building services, plumbing, drainage, carpentry, fencing, masonry, glazing, decorating, tiling and roofing
  • Appropriate knowledge and understanding of health and safety in the workplace, including ability to carry out local Risk Assessments & Method Statements (RAMS) to mitigate risks in service delivery and maintain company standards in health and safety
  • Good communication skills, both orally and in writing
  • Customer focused with the ability to build positive working relationships.
  • Ability to work independently, with a high level of personal organisation skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations.
  • Professional and proactive approach.
  • Resilient and tenacious with a tendency to persevere.
