Senior Accountant

Manpower UK are recruiting on behalf of a leading accountancy firm who support businesses manage all aspects of their accounts.

Working within the Edinburgh based office you would be part of a great team working within a fast paced environment supporting the directors, the business and the team.

In the role of a senior accountant you would be responsible to produce and submit annual accounts for ltd companies, partnerships and sole traders whilst creating and proactively maintaining accurate client records. You would also have the responsibility to support and train team members on software packages and act as a technical mentor for the technical team.

By regularly attending conferences to gain a better understanding of current issues within the accountancy world you would be expected to research and deliver this back to the team to enhance technical performance and ensuring the firm always remain at the forefront of the market place.

Keeping up to date with all compliance in accordance to new accounting standards you would then relay this to the team providing them with the correct support when required.

You would be responsible to keep the operations director informed and up to date with any performance related issues within the team and assist in the design of processes to ensure smooth running of the practice.

What experience is required?

We are looking for fully qualified accountants who hold a current practising certificate and who also hold an accountancy qualification degree (minimum 2:2). You must have experience within working in a service environment and have the ability to coach and mentor.
