An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a world leading global organisation, our Global FMCG Client Unilever, are currently seeking a Consumer Studies Manger based at their prestigious Research & Development facility on Port Sunlight, Wirral. This is a full time temporary role for a period of 6 months, working a 37.5 hour week. This role is paying between £25,000 to £30,000 per annum, pro rata.

The Personal Care category is looking for a highly motivated person to manage the Consumer Studies Centre (CSC) at Port Sunlight Research and Development, where consumers participate in the trial of Unilever products. The candidate will be responsible for providing an outstanding service to support the consumer testing needs of the Research & Development science programme.

The position will suit someone with excellent customer service skills, who has experience of managing a small reception team, is confident in using databases and booking systems and is comfortable working in a fast paced, busy environment, dealing with people. This role reports to the unit manager and is supported by a deputy manager.

Key accountabilities

Overall responsibility for the day to day running of the CSC facility and test service including;

  • Staff rota for approximately 5
  • Keeping accurate Excel spreadsheet reports in preparation for submitting payment information for panellists
  • Handling panellist complaints & resolving issues arising
  • Planning and accommodating last minute changes to the studies work plan
  • Recruiting panellists for studies
  • Ensuring the CSC code of conduct is adhered to
  • Maintaining (with deputy & unit manager) safety and data security
  • Scheduling tests and allocating rooms (with deputy manager)
  • Maintaining, with deputy, a safe environment for panellists
  • Overseeing online booking tools and online communications

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong IT skills Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Ability to pick up new systems easily
  • Excellent customer service skills with ability to deal with complaints effectively and provide a resolution
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and remain calm under pressure
  • Strong knowledge of using databases for setting up appointments
  • Experience of team management
  • Ability to be reactive to last minute changes and put plants in place to rectify these unplanned alterations
