Our Client is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their maintenance department and carry out:

  • routine monitoring checks of a wide variety of plant and equipment;
  • the planned preventative maintenance of plant;
  • reactive maintenance of plant;
  • supervision of specialist contractors



Responsibilities

The responsibilities and duties of the role will include the following:

  • Report to the Mechanical supervisor
  • Prioritise, plan and carry out your own allocated tasks;
  • Carry out the routine monitoring of plant rooms including HVAC systems, refrigeration systems, boilers, and controls;
  • Log information and faults from the monitoring and carry out the appropriate first response;
  • Carry out the planned preventative maintenance (PPM);
  • Interrogate Trend BMS system and fault find
  • Carry out the replacement of plant;
  • Work in accordance with safety method statements and risk assessments and ensure safe systems of work are adhered to;
  • Use the handheld technology provided to record Health & Safety Pre-work checks and all maintenance activities. Training will be provided;
  • Work as part of a team to provide a flexible response to work requests;
  • Attend and actively participate in regular training and team meetings as and when required;
  • To be an advocate for Customer Service Excellence (CSE). To assist in and offer suggestions on the CSE continual development initiatives;
  • Supervise specialist contractors in the execution of preventative and reactive maintenance;
  • From time to time you may be required to provide out of hours call out assistance
  • Driving DLO vehicles to collect and drop off materials as necessary;
  • Any other duties that you may be required to undertake from time to time at the request of the Head or Deputy Head of the DLO.



Essential

  • Educated to at least NVQ level 3 or equivalent in a mechanical discipline
  • Qualified to city and guilds 17th edition electrical IET or equivalent
  • Extensive experience of maintenance of mechanical systems including HVAC systems, refrigeration systems, boilers, pumps, water systems and controls and bench fitting repairs.
  • Excellent fault diagnosis skills across a range of systems
  • Experience of computerised maintenance management systems, especially use of hand held devices; ability to keep records.
  • Experience of supervising contractors.
  • An awareness of relevant health and safety policies and procedures and safe methods of working.
  • Willingness to work in a flexible manner; being able to demonstrate a team player philosophy and contribute towards its success
  • Ability to liaise with DLO customers in a professional and competent manner, ensuring that customers are kept informed in accordance with Estates Services customer service excellence ethos.
  • Understanding of Customer Service and willingness to work to Customer Service Excellence standards.
