Due to the rapid & continued growth of the company, my Client is now looking to expand their warehouse & distribution services, and I am pleased to be supporting them in their search for Deputy Warehouse Manager.

The Role:

As the Deputy Warehouse Manager you will report directly to the Warehouse Manager, with responsibility for 2 Operatives (this number could increase) and your key responsibility will be assisting in the management of the day to day running of the warehouse including purchasing and the necessary logistics to support engineering, operational, financial and customer requirements.

Additionally your key remit will include;

  • Liaising with all departments to keep fully informed of current and forthcoming work in addition to effectively monitoring to ensure adequate stock levels are available
  • Dealing with Blue Chip Client accounts should any issues arise
  • Digesting & delivering of information to ensure that direct report staff are aware of contractual requirements
  • Assist with the management and development of direct reporting staff and help certify that all warehouse staff are trained to the necessary level to meet current and projected contracts
  • Work with the manager to maintain appropriate systems for measuring necessary aspects of the warehouse including security.
  • Ensure activities meet and integrate with organisational requirements for quality Management, health and safety, legal stipulations, environmental policies and general duty of care.
  • Development and presentation of stock reports to customers and members of the team as necessary
  • You will also be required to cover for the Warehouse Manager when the Warehouse Manager is not on site.

Who will be successful in this role?

You will need the required skills and experience to thrive within this role, & these will include;

  • Experience within a similar role is required
  • Competent with Microsoft Office and warehouse management systems is essential
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy with business acumen is essential
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate across all levels
  • FLT licence is desirable. Training for the right candidate will be given
  • Full UK driving licence is essential
  • It is also essential that you are able to work as a team member within a small team and have a can do attitude.
