An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a world leading global organisation, our client Leading Global FMCG company with Brands such as Dove, Knorr, Persil & Magnum are currently looking for an Asset Accountant based at their prestigious facility in Port Sunlight, Wirral. This is a full time temporary role to start in Sept 2018, for a period of 12 months (maternity cover), working a 37.5 hour week. This role is paying up to £38,000pa, pro rata, depending on experience.

The Controllers team deliver competitive advantage from best in class end-to-end financial processes from a speed, reliability and cost perspective. We drive efficiency in compliance and control activities consistent with our defined quality and risk thresholds in a dynamic regulatory environment. We reinforce the fundamentals of control and drive pro-active risk management. The ETS Controllers Asset Accountant is a key role for the Europe IT entity (UEIT). They will be the subject matter expert for IT Capex (Tangibles & Intangibles) & will support other areas of ETS, providing technical insight on Tangibles & Intangibles Accounting treatment & processes.
Key Accountabilities;
- Global single point of contact for ETS for Tangibles & Intangibles accounting & process knowledge
- Problem solving on correct accounting treatment / correct process for unique or unusual transactions such as intangibles asset transfers etc.
- Liaise with internal and external auditors, providing analysis on UEIT assets & accounting treatment
- Liaise with Tax teams managing queries & providing analysis
- Manage UEIT asset register, including asset verification process
- Responsible for the Global ETS Amortisation forecast, providing insights to the business on variances and potential savings
- Manage Data Centre Relationship & maintain interface & progress control improvements to enable accurate asset reporting
- Review WIP (work in progress) spend for capitalisation
- Global Policy amendments & implementation project lead
- Global Training & education to ETS Finance on IT Intangibles
- Process the Global ETS Intangible CWIP (capital work in progress) - Capitalised Asset process quarterly
- Effectively manage the monthly P&L - CWIP transaction for Global ETS Intangibles projects
Experience Required;
- Partial or fully CIMA, ACCA, ACA Qualified
- Excellent excel skills and experience of analysing large amounts of data
- Broad experience of financial accounting, asset accounting.
- Good interpersonal, communication, influencing skills
- Committed team player, demonstrating a 'hands-on' proactive approach
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Knowledge of SAP preferred
- Ability and drive to work independently.
