Secure Driver - Cash In Transit

Secure Driver required in Woking on a full-time permanent basis for the collection and delivery of cash/coin.

Our client is the largest cash collection organisation in the country. They handle the majority of the cash that goes through the UK's banks, and a third of the UK's total cash spend. From family florists to national coffee chains, they collect cash for over 4,500 businesses of every size in the UK


Salary & Hours

The salary is between £22,571 to £25,127 and this is for a contacted 39 hours per week. You may be expected to work over these hours and this will be paid as overtime.

Responsibilities

As a Secure Driver, your primary responsibility will be operating a vehicle to securely deliver and collect cash to and from each customer's location.

Further responsibilities include:

  • Delivering and collecting cash/ coin accurately to and from customer sites, within a specified Time Window.
  • Maintaining good, safe and courteous driving behaviour
  • Being polite and courteous to customers and members of the public.
  • Carrying out vehicle checks and report any security and/or mechanical defects.
  • Carrying out procedures properly in the event of an emergency or a criminal attack.
  • Always wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided.
  • Checking consignments and ensuring accuracy and efficient loading/unloading at branches and other secure areas.
  • Adhering to Operational Standing Orders.
  • Undertaking training to develop learn and progress.
  • Ensuring the integrity of audit trails.
  • Demonstrating a proactive attitude by carrying out any other duties as deemed reasonable. The key skills required to be a successful Secure Driver are:

The key skills required to be a successful Secure Driver are:

  • You must have held a current full driving licence for at least 3 years
  • You will need to be confident communicating with customers and colleagues in both written and spoken English
  • An appropriate level of numeracy is also very important
  • You must be flexible in your approach to work and hours
  • Experience in a previous driving position
  • Experience using IT and computer systems

Preferable skills

The preferred skills for this role are:

  • A C1 licence
  • An SIA licence

Security Checks

Due to the nature of the role, there will also be specific security criteria that you will need to meet:

  • You must be able to pass a criminal record check as well as a personal credit and ID check.
  • You will also need to be prepared to undergo airport style searches when entering and leaving the base and be comfortable working within a secure and confined environment.
