Junior Product Design Engineer

JOB PURPOSE

• To assist the department head with all aspects of the product development process
• of new products to agreed brief
• To manage individually assigned projects from conception through to mass production
• To deliver a satisfactory product to an indefinite brief within restrictive time and budget constraints
• Rectification and modification of product designs to any product with performance shortfalls
• Product improvement
• Support the Manufacturing team
• Any reasonable task asked to do by a member of the management
• Act as a member of the team and behave in line with H&S Guidelines

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Web based investigation of existing products
• Sourcing / procurement of existing products
• In-depth physical analysis of existing products
• Studying Global Standards Literature to assess scope of Design Requirement
• Investigations of new materials, processes, fasteners and adhesives
• Keep up to date with new technologies and techniques to ensure products designed are at the leading edge

This position will suit someone who is a recent Graduate or who has a few years of experience behind them and wants to progress. It could also suit a school leaver wanting to invest long term in a company and want to grow. Solid works experience is essential, although you will be offered full training initially and ongoing. This is an exciting position that offers a long-term career and may even involve international travel! The working hours are Monday to Thursday 8:30-17:00 Monday to Thursday and 08:30 - 16:00 on Fridays. the salary is £18,000 - £22,000 dependant on experience although there is huge room for development.
