An excellent opportunity has arisen to join a world leading global organisation, our global FMCG client, the powerhouse behind brands such as Walls, Colman's and Carte D'Or have an opening for an Archivist & Records Manager based at their historic site in Port Sunlight, Wirral. This is a 1 year temporary contract, paying £30,500 per annum to start end of September or beginning of October 2018.

We have a vacancy for an Archivist and Records Manager within the Archive and Records Management team. Part of the Central Marketing and Communications Office, the team manage information past, present and future. Reporting to the UARM Service Operations Manager, the Archivist and Records Manager plays a key role in helping to deliver UARM's comprehensive and successful Archives and Records Management service, the high standard of which has been recognised by The National Archives.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Use of CALM system
  • Lead management of Volunteer Programme
  • To catalogue assigned collections to in-house and international standards
  • Accessions and appraisal management
  • Assign, monitor and evaluate the daily work of the support and project staff, provide coaching and training where required
  • Increase awareness of UARM and advocate for the service via advice, training sessions, presentations and events
  • Manage client accounts providing Business Partnering to assigned functions
  • Develop new procedures and operational practices
  • Support the day to day running of UARM to ensure that Service Level Agreements are met
  • Lead and support project work
  • Conduct information audits of paper and electronic records and filing systems and help implement new file plans
  • To maintain the professional standards of UARM internally and externally
  • Deputise for the UARM Service Operations Manager as required

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post-graduate qualification in Archives and Records Management
  • Hands-on experience of electronic document/Records Management systems; Archive Management systems, digital preservation systems
  • Knowledge of IT and communication technologies in support of archive and records management
  • Knowledge of the legislation underpinning Archives and Records Management in the business sector
  • Knowledge of records management and archival standards
  • Thorough knowledge of methods and practices for appraising records;
  • Inter-personal and communication skills;
  • Self-motivated with sound planning, prioritising and project management skills
  • Work to deadlines and deliver results under pressure, with attention to detail
  • Customer focus: influencing and persuading skills and able to network
  • Experience of cataloguing to a high standard
  • Demonstrate the ability to creatively find solutions to problems
  • Knowledge of standards for the care and storage of art and artefacts
